This spring I have finally been able to accomplish one of the goals I've had for moving to Las Vegas in the first place! I got to take several photo shoots in the desert. The sunlight here is really amazing, but it takes careful planning to get the right timing for all the necessary aspects of a photo shoot in the desert. The heat is an enemy of hair and make up. The sun can burn the bare skin. Then there's the unending spectators that one must avoid to get the naughty shots I want to show you.

That all means you have to be there ridiculously early to get the best temperature! I hate getting up early. So I took several weeks this year to scout some locations and try out a few shots. I found some great places. I decided that I loved camping back in the midwest, so I should go camp out and take early morning photos. The first campsite I found was too rough. I tried to find some really secluded spots because of the ongoing lockdown.

Eventually I found another campsite and with some luck, I got some good photos. Of course now that I'm all set to get out in the wilderness the heat is raring up in the Nevada desert. 107 in Las Vegas today. So maybe I'll be camping again in the fall...
